Venues Bern and Zurich
The games as far as the quarter finals will be staged in Zurich (Saalsporthalle) and Bern (Sporthalle Wankdorf). The semi-final and final stages will take place at the Hallenstadion, Zurich.
Sporthalle Wankdorf, Bern
The Wankdorfhalle in Bern is a well established venue for Floorball events. Final rounds of European Floorball Cup 1999, Womens World Floorball Championsship 2003 and World University Floorball Cup 2006 took place there. The arena is also host for the famous annual final matches of Swiss Mobiliar Cup. With a playing area of 48x28 meters and a capacity of 3000 persons (2500 seats, 500 standings) it is guaranteed that spectators ar close to the action.
The Saalsporthalle is a traditional venue for ball games and stronghold of high class floorball and handball. The arena with a capacity of 2200 spectators was host for the European Floorball Cup 2005 and the Floorball Topseries “Euro Floorball Tour” in 2008 . The arena is easy reachable by public transport as well as by car.
The Hallenstadion, Zurich is the largest multifunctional arena in Switzerland and comprises 11,500 seats during the Floorball World Championship. The Hallenstadion Zurich is the biggest multifunctional arena in Switzerland. The Arena hosts concerts from the most famous pop stars worldwide as well as the biggest indoor sports events (such as the CSIO in Equestrian). It’s also home of the Swiss Ice Hockey Top team ZSC Lions. The biggest plus of this Arena is its adaptability and versatility. Everything which fits on 80 x 40 meters is possible.
