The Men's World Championship – the climax of the season

Information was provided regarding the Men's World Championship in Bern and Zurich during the swiss unihockey season opening press conference. The preparations and ticket presales are on course. The Swiss energy company AXPO was secured as the new main sponsor of the World Championship.

Shortly before the start of the season, swiss unihockey called a traditional season opening press conference in the Postfinance Arena in Bern. The location was not chosen accidentally – it is located in the immediate vicinity of Wankdorfhalle, one of the host locations of the 2012 Men's Floorball World Championships at the start of December in Bern and Zurich. The World Championship was then also the first topic on the press conference agenda. "It is the most important and largest event that the association has organised", swiss unihockey Central President Daniel Bareiss stressed. The event is on course in terms of finance and the ticket presales are also progressing to the satisfaction of the organisers. Around 35 percent of the tickets have already been sold. The seats for the medal games, which will be held at the Hallenstadion in Zurich, are particularly coveted.

In addition to asics, Swerink, Unihoc, Mobiliar, Rivella and SPAR, the leading Swiss energy company AXPO has been secured as the new main sponsor for the Men's Floorball World Championship. Bareiss is particularly pleased about this involvement: "The fact that AXPO is involved in floorball shows us that our national sport is becoming increasingly more rooted."

The 2012 Men's World Championship should create a lasting impression in Switzerland. As part of the campaign "Schools at the World Championship", school classes will be invited to games at the host locations in Bern and Zurich, with the aim of further strengthening the position of floorball in school sport.

Organisation of the World Championship is on course, the national strip of the home team has been chosen. The Swiss national team have another 14 training days in just under 3 months until the home World Championship to prepare for their first appearance. The names of the players for the World Championship squad will be released by swiss unihockey on 12 November.
