Independence Day – a special day with something special on offer
Finland celebrates its national holiday – Independence Day – on 6 December and to mark the occasion, the organisers of WFC 2012 have put together a special, attractive package for spectators.
On 6 December, Finland celebrates its national holiday – Independence Day. It commemorates the date in 1917 when the country declared its independence. The celebration in Finland is a very patriotic occasion – visits to war graves and military parades form part of the programme, in addition to the commemorative speech by the Finnish President, which is followed with great interest by the public. In the evening, people also display blue and white candles in their windows as a symbol of independence.
The World Floorball Championship 2012 organisation committee in Bern and Zurich has taken the national Finnish holiday as an opportunity to offer an attractive package for two people. The deal includes free tickets to Zurich's Saalsporthalle on Independence Day, where the Finns will be playing their Championship matches, for €666 (instead of over €800). This also includes two tickets to the semi-final and final in the Hallenstadion in Zurich and three nights' stay in an official WFC hotel – the Crowne Plaza Zurich.
The Independence Day Package also guarantees you entry into all games at the Hallenstadion. The semi-final and finals are currently selling very well, with over 8,000 tickets having been sold already.
